Your Paint Color Profile

W37 - Innsbruck White

The Look

Since your Lancer Evolution or Colt has likely seen its share of the open road, you know this color is a Mitsubishi workhorse. It is a crisp, purposeful white that defined the rally-bred look of the Lancer EVO lineup for years. It provides a clean, high-contrast aesthetic that emphasizes the car's lines without the distraction of sparkles. It is a classic, no-nonsense choice that looks just as sharp on a track as it does in a driveway.

Technical Details

This is a solid finish, which makes it much easier to handle in a garage or under a bit of shade. Because there are no metallic flakes to align, you won't have to worry about the paint looking darker from different angles. The downside is that solid white is an honest color that shows every speck of road tar and iron fallout. Over time, the sun can also cause the original finish to yellow slightly, so your fresh repair might appear a bit brighter than the aged panels of an older Lancer.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Mitsubishi Innsbruck White (check for code W37), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. You can usually find the paint code on a metal plate on the firewall at the back of the engine bay or on the center pillar door jamb. Test the color on the included card to confirm the match before you begin. To ensure the finish stays level, keep the container moving and apply several light layers. This builds up the color gradually and allows for plenty of drying time between coats so the nozzle or brush doesn't pull the previous layer.

ensuring the right match

How to Find Your Mitsubishi's Color Code

Mitsubishi paint codes are on a tag in the firewall area of the car, not on an exterior panel. The color code sits at the bottom mid-left part of that tag. Codes include letters, dashes, and numbers. The code R71 corresponds to Passion Red Clearcoat. R71 may be called Passion Red Clearcoat on some models. R71 may be called Red Clearcoat or Speed Red Clearcoat on others. Model marketing names can vary even for the same code.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
