This color arrived with the modern Cherokee and Compass to remind everyone that Jeep heritage is rooted in the woods. It is a sophisticated, earthy take on a classic military aesthetic. Since your Jeep has likely spent a few years facing the sun and the trails, you will notice the original paint has a deep, mossy character that shifts its mood depending on the light. It is not a flat, dull green; it has a subtle shimmer that keeps the car from looking like an old surplus vehicle while still feeling rugged enough for a weekend in the mud.

Technical Details

This is a true pearl finish, which is both a blessing and a curse for a quick fix. Those microscopic mica flakes give the paint its glow, but they naturally sink to the bottom of the container. If you do not mix them for a long time, your repair will look like a dark, muddy green instead of the vibrant olive it should be. Pearl finishes show heavy spots if the pigment is applied too thickly in one area, so you must be careful with your layering to prevent the flakes from bunching up and creating dark "mottled" patches.

You can find your specific paint information on the sticker inside the driver-side door jamb, usually listed next to a "PNT" prompt. How to Find Your Jeep's Color Code

Jeep codes are difficult to find. In the good old days, they hid them on top of the radiator support, under engine grease and oil. Later models put them on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: BS/GBS; only BS is the color code (also QBS, PBS, TBS, etc.). The first letter is a "Year Code". BS corresponds to Deep Water Blue Pearl Clearcoat; the G in GBS is not part of the color code. Lately, Jeep lists just BS.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can.
