Where to find Genesis color code

Find Your 2025 Genesis Paint Code

Genesis codes are relatively easy to find as they are normally on the drivers door jamb, which is the usual location. Some Hyundai models do manage to hide their color codes in the engine compartment, so if it is not on the drivers door jamb, finding it can be tougher. The typical color code format is: 3E, which corresponds to: Blue Onyx Metallic Clearcoat. Some later Hyundais use a three character code.

2025 Genesis Background Info

The 2025 Genesis Vibe

Welcome to 2025, where Genesis is busy trying to out-luxe the old guard with a lineup that looks like it was plucked straight from a designer's fever dream. Whether you're staring at the sweeping lines of the Electrified-G800 or the muscular haunches of the GV80, one thing is clear: they didn't skimp on the variety. Our database is tracking 29 distinct shades for this year alone. We're talking about everything from the deep, forest-floor mystery of Hallasan Green Pearl to the "look at me" pop of Hanauma Mint. It's a sophisticated palette, heavy on the "Neo-Luxury" feel with a serious obsession for those velvet-smooth flat finishes like Storr Green Matt and Kawah Blue Matt. If you're driving one of these, you aren't just transport; you're a rolling art gallery.

Paint Health Check

Now, let's talk shop. We are deep in the Thin Paint Era, and your Genesis is the poster child for "Robot Efficiency." Back in the day, we used to spray enough paint to stop a small caliber bullet; today, those factory robots are so precise they measure coverage in atoms. The clear coat on models like the G70 or G90 is beautiful and glass-smooth, but it's thinner than a celebrity's patience. The reality? This paint is "soft." Because the layers are so lean, a single highway pebble doesn't just leave a mark-it can cause the surrounding clear coat to lose its grip, leading to those nasty little "flaking" chips that look like tiny craters. If you're rocking Uyuni White Tricoat or Matterhorn White, keep a sharp eye out; these high-end pearls are layered for beauty, not for battle, and they'll show every micro-fissure if you let them.

Restoration Tip

When you're touching up a 2025 Genesis, you have to fight the urge to be a hero with a heavy hand. Build your layers slowly; don't blob it. Because the factory finish is so thin, a big "gob" of touch-up paint will stick out like a sore thumb. Apply several paper-thin coats, letting each one dry completely, until you've built the level up to match the surrounding clear. If you're working on one of those matte finishes like Bond Silver Metallic or Astro Blue Matt, remember: you can't buff or polish mistakes away without turning the spot shiny. Precision is your only friend here-use a micro-applicator and stay strictly inside the lines of the chip.
