Your Gladiator or Wrangler was built for the trail, and this desert-inspired tan serves as the uniform for it. This color captures a tactical, military aesthetic without the look of a plain fleet vehicle. It is one of those rare shades that looks right with a dusting of grime on the fenders. Because the hue sits between a light cream and a deep khaki, it manages to hide road salt and dried mud far more effectively than a standard white or grey.

Technical Details

This is a solid finish, meaning there is no metallic flake or pearl in the mix. While that makes your job easier because you do not have to worry about the orientation of sparkles, solid colors are unforgiving when it comes to thickness. If you apply too much paint in one spot, the repair will sit higher than the original surface and create a visible ridge. Since there is no flake to distract the eye, focus on building thin layers to keep the surface flat and consistent with the rest of the panel.

Before you spray or dab Jeep Gobi (check for code RUA), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. You will find that code on the silver or white sticker located on the driver side door jamb. These tan pigments are heavy and sink to the bottom of the container, so thorough mixing is the way to ensure the shade matches your door. Test the color on the included card first to confirm the match against your specific trim. Whether you use a nozzle or a brush, keep the container moving and allow plenty of drying time between your light coats to prevent the paint from sagging.

How to Find Your Jeep's Color Code

Jeep codes are difficult to find. In the good old days, they hid them on top of the radiator support, under engine grease and oil. Later models put them on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: BS/GBS; only BS is the color code (also QBS, PBS, TBS, etc.). The first letter is a "Year Code". BS corresponds to Deep Water Blue Pearl Clearcoat; the G in GBS is not part of the color code. Lately, Jeep lists just BS.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
