Your Paint Color Profile

CT6 - Mink Brown Pearl Metallic

The Look

This color takes you back to the mid-eighties, an era when Chrysler defined family travel and luxury with deep, earthy tones. If you are touching up a vintage Voyager van or a classic K-car, you are working with a shade built for long highway hauls and suburban driveways. It has a rich, coffee-like warmth that is forgiving when it comes to hiding road grime. Since your vehicle has been on the road for decades, this brown offers a classic aesthetic that still feels grounded and substantial.

Technical Details

This is a pearl metallic finish, which means it relies on a blend of tiny reflective particles to create its depth. These flakes are heavier than the paint itself and tend to sink to the bottom of your container. If you do not get them well-mixed, the color will look uneven or blotchy on your panel. You want those particles floating evenly in the solution so that when the sun hits the surface, the finish looks uniform rather than showing dark, cloudy patches known as mottling.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Chrysler Mink Brown Pearl Metallic (check for code CT6 on the metal tag located on your radiator support or the driver's door jamb), you must shake the container for at least sixty seconds. Test the color on the included card to make sure the metallic shimmer looks right before you move to the car. While applying the paint, keep the container moving in steady passes to prevent the pearl flakes from pooling in one spot. If you are working in your garage or in the shade, give each layer plenty of drying time to ensure the repair sets flat and stays durable.

How to Find Your Chrysler's Color Code

Chrysler paint codes can be difficult to find. In the good old days, they were on top of the radiator support, often hidden under engine grease and oil. Later models put them on the drivers door jamb. Typical format: BS/GBS, but only BS is the color code; it can also appear as QBS, PBS, TBS, etc., with the first letter as a confusing "Year Code." BS corresponds to Deep Water Blue Pearl Clearcoat; the G in GBS is not part of the color code.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
