Renault All Models Touch Up Paint (71 OEM Colors)

The Color Breakdown

Renault really went for it with their palette, recording 71 distinct colors that range from the moody Deep Night Blue to the absolutely vibrant Liquid Yellow Tricoat. Whether you're driving a car in Rouge Etrusque or the more common Boreal Metal Grey, it's clear the designers weren't afraid of a little personality. They've given us a mix of "Opaque" (solid) and "Nacre" (pearl) finishes that make a driveway look like a Parisian street corner-provided we keep the scuffs at bay.

What to Watch For

Renault paint is known for being a bit "polite"-which is a nice way of saying the clear coat can be somewhat soft. This means your hood is likely a magnet for stone chips that reveal a stubborn white primer underneath. Finding your paint code is the first hurdle; Renault likes to keep you on your toes. Check the driver's side door jamb first, but if it's not there, take a peek at the rear passenger door pillar. Look for a sticker with a lot of numbers; you're looking for a 3-character code (like GNE for Black or NNP for Red). If you see "TE" or "OV" in front of it, don't worry-those just tell the factory if it's metallic or solid.

Driveway Repair Tip

Since so many Renault colors are "Nacre" (pearl) or metallic, those tiny flakes like to settle at the bottom of the bottle. Shake your touch-up pen or bottle for a full 60 seconds-long after you think you're done-to wake up that sparkle. When you're filling in a chip, remember that Renault's soft finish responds best to "thin is in." Use the tip of a toothpick or the very edge of your brush to drop the paint into the chip rather than painting over it. Two thin layers will always look better than one thick blob that stands out like a sore thumb.
