It was a time of transition where the finish was getting sleeker, but the layers were getting... well, efficient.

The 2010 era sits squarely in the Thin Paint Era. By this point, the paint booths were largely run by robots designed for "maximum transfer efficiency"-which is just a fancy way of saying they got real stingy with the material. While that Pearl Black or Midnight Pine Pearl looks deep, the actual color coat is thinner than a diner napkin. Restoration Tip
