Your Paint Color Profile

6V2 - Dark Green Metallic

The Look

This color defines the 200-series Land Cruiser era. It is not a loud or neon green; it is a sophisticated forest shade that feels like it belongs on a mountain trail or a remote ranch. Since your Landcruiser has likely been on the road since the early 2010s, you have probably noticed how well this deep pigment masks road grime and dust. In the shade, the finish looks almost black, but direct sunlight pulls out a deep, organic glow that makes the vehicle look rugged yet premium.

Technical Details

This is a metallic finish, meaning it is packed with tiny flakes that catch the light. This adds depth, but it creates a specific challenge for your repair. If you apply the paint too heavily or unevenly, those flakes will bunch together, resulting in dark spots or "mottling." To get the repair to disappear, you need those flakes to lay down flat. If they stand on edge or clump, the touch-up will look darker than the rest of the body. Light, thin layers are the secret to keeping the metallic particles distributed evenly.

Best Practices

Toyota lists your color information on the VIN sticker located on the driver's side door jamb; look for the "C/TR" heading to confirm your match. Before you spray or dab Toyota Dark Green Metallic (check for code 6V2), you need to shake it for 60 seconds to pull the metallic flakes off the bottom of the reservoir. Test the color on the included card to see how the flakes settle before you touch the car. When you start the repair, keep the container moving and give it plenty of drying time between layers to prevent the paint from sagging or shifting.

ensuring the right match

How to Find Your Toyota's Color Code

On all Toyota models, the color ID plate is on the drivers door jamb. It shows the letters C/TR and then the paint code. Example: C/TR 3P1 FA09. The color code is 3P1; FA09 is not part of the color code and is an interior option code. For example, 3P1 is Impulse Red Metallic Clearcoat; names may vary like Red Metallic Clearcoat or Wine Metallic Clearcoat. The color code can also be obtained from a dealer using the VIN.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
