Technical Details

This is a solid finish, which is the best news you could get for a DIY project. Because there are no metallic flakes or pearl pigments to worry about, you do not have to fret over the direction of your stroke or the way the light hits the repair. The challenge with a solid white like this is the aging process. Over time, the sun can give the factory paint a slightly creamy or yellowed tint. When you apply fresh paint, it might look a bit brighter than the rest of the panel, so blending the edges is your best friend.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Plymouth Stone White (check for code PW1), you need to shake the container for at least a full minute to ensure the pigments are fully mixed. You can find your paint code on the identification sticker located on the driver's side door jamb, usually listed right next to the PNT heading. Test the color on the included card before you touch the car to see how the new paint stacks up against your current finish. When you are ready, keep the container moving to avoid heavy buildup. It is much better to apply three thin layers than one thick one. Give the area plenty of drying time between layers to prevent sags or runs.
