Your Paint Color Profile

216 - Bianco Alpi Tricoat

The Look

You aren't just driving a white car; you are driving a Ghibli that wears light like a tailored suit. Since your Maserati has been on the road, you have likely noticed how this finish shifts from a crisp, clean white in the shade to a deep, glowing ivory under direct sun. It was designed to highlight the aggressive body lines of the 2016-2026 era, giving the metal a heavy, liquid appearance that standard paints cannot replicate. Because this color is so bright, it shows road grime quickly, but that high-contrast glow is what makes the car stand out in a parking lot.

Technical Details

This is a sophisticated pearlescent tricoat, which means the depth comes from a semi-transparent middle layer sitting over a solid base. When you use your brush or nozzle, you are dealing with microscopic mica flakes that reflect light at different angles. The risk here is thickness; if you apply the paint too heavily in one spot, the pearl will look darker or "mottled" compared to the rest of the panel. To get a clean match, you need to focus on thin, even layers rather than trying to cover the damage in one go.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Maserati Bianco Alpi Tricoat (check for code 216), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. You can usually find that code on a silver sticker located on the underside of the hood or the trunk lid. Once you are ready to work in your garage, always test the color on the included card to see how the pearl settles. Whether you are using a pen or a can, keep the container moving to ensure the mica flakes don't clump together. Give the surface plenty of drying time between layers to prevent the finish from becoming cloudy.

How to Find Your Maserati's Color Code

The Maserati paint color code is obtained by contacting Maserati; they can determine the color code. If a color code is not available, the alternative reference is the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number. In essence, the code comes from Maserati, or the equivalent paint formula is specified via PPG or Dupont (Axalta).

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
