Your Paint Color Profile

UCA60 - Dark Red Pearl (Cladding)

The Look

Your ES300 from the mid-nineties belongs to a specific era of luxury. This deep red accent on your lower panels provided the finishing touch to that classic two-tone aesthetic. Since your car has likely seen three decades of road debris and sun, the plastic cladding often shows its age before the metal body. Refreshing this area helps restore the grounded, sophisticated profile that Lexus intended when the car left the lot in 1994.

Technical Details

This is a pearl finish, which means it relies on tiny mica flakes to catch the light and create depth. Pearl pigments are heavier than standard dye, so they tend to sink to the bottom of the container. If you do not mix it thoroughly, you will end up with a flat maroon that looks like mud against your original finish. Before you apply your Lexus Dark Red Pearl (Cladding) (look for code UCA60) to those lower panels, you need to understand how pearl pigments behave. If you apply the paint too thick, the color will appear darker than the rest of the car.

Best Practices

You can find your paint code on the driver's side door jamb sticker, listed right after the C/TR heading. To get the best result, shake your container for a full sixty seconds to ensure the pearl flakes are suspended in the mix. Test the color on the included card before you touch the car to ensure the shade matches the current state of your weathered cladding. Work in a shaded garage to keep the surface cool. Apply the paint in light, thin layers rather than one heavy coat, and keep the container moving to avoid dark spots. Give each layer enough drying time so the finish sets evenly.

ensuring the right match

How to Find Your Lexus's Color Code

Lexus, manufactured by Toyota, shares many color codes. On all models, a color ID plate on the driver’s door jamb shows C/TR followed by the paint code. Example: C/TR 3P1 FA09, where 3P1 is the color code; FA09 is an interior option code. The same paint can have different names across models (e.g., 3P1: Impulse Red Metallic Clearcoat, also Red Metallic Clearcoat or Wine Metallic Clearcoat). Dealers can provide the color code via VIN.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
