Your Paint Color Profile

NH-75M - Stout Silver Metallic (Wheel)

The Look

Stout Silver is the quiet hero of the 1988 Honda lineup. While the car bodies often featured vibrant reds or deep blues, this specific silver was reserved for the wheels of the Accord, Civic, and Prelude. It is a clean, industrial silver that gives late-eighties alloys a refined, factory look. Since your Honda has likely spent decades on the road, this paint is the right choice for hiding those inevitable curb marks and restoring the sharp contrast between the tire and the rim.

Technical Details

This is a metallic finish, which means it contains tiny aluminum flakes to create its shimmer. Before you spray or dab Honda Stout Silver Metallic (Wheel) (check for code NH-75M), you need to shake the container vigorously for at least a full minute. If those flakes are not mixed, the silver will look dull or patchy. Metallics are also prone to mottling, where the flakes group together and create dark streaks or uneven shadows. This happens if the paint goes on too heavy, so use light layers to let the finish build up.

Best Practices

You can find your primary paint code on a sticker inside the driver's door jamb, though wheel codes are often verified through parts catalogs or the VIN. Work in your garage or a patch of shade to keep the metal from getting too hot, as heat will make the paint dry too fast and ruin the flake alignment. Test the color on the included card to confirm the match before you touch the wheel. Whether you use a brush or a nozzle, keep the container moving to ensure the metallic flakes lay down flat. Give each layer enough drying time to prevent the paint from sagging or running.

How to Find Your Honda's Color Code

Honda Color Codes are usually found on the Color ID Tag in the driver-side door jamb. It is typically a rectangular label, and the Color Code is usually 2 letters plus 3 digits with a suffix letter, such as NH731P, B92P, YR525M, or NH603P-1. Some Hondas also require the Factory Code for the closest match; check the Color ID Tag for a suffix like -1, -3, -4, or -15, or use the 11th digit of the VIN visible through the windshield on the driver-side dashboard.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
