Your Paint Color Profile

935105 - Medium Blue

The Look

This color is the quintessential uniform of the American work week. It is a dependable, honest blue that remained a staple in the PPG catalog for over thirty years because it provided a professional, uniform look for entire rows of service trucks and delivery vans. Since your vehicle was likely built to work between 1966 and 2000, you are dealing with a finish designed for durability and easy maintenance rather than showing off at a gallery. It has a classic, industrial character that feels right at home on a heavy-duty fender or a steel door.

Technical Details

This is a solid finish, which is excellent news for your repair. Because there are no metallic flakes or pearls hidden in the mix, you do not have to worry about the paint looking darker from different angles or creating "mottling" stripes. However, solid blues are very honest. They show surface scratches easily and are prone to UV fading over decades of life outdoors. If your original paint has a chalky or dull appearance from years in the sun, the fresh pigment may look slightly deeper than the weathered area until the rest of the panel is cleaned and polished.

Best Practices

Before you spray or dab Fleet Medium Blue (check for code 935105), you need to shake it for 60 seconds to properly distribute the heavy blue pigments. You can typically find your paint identification sticker on the driver-side door jamb or printed on a service tag inside the glove box. Test the color on the included card first to see how it sits against your current finish. When you start, keep the container moving to ensure the paint flows evenly without pooling or sagging. Work in a cool garage or the shade, and allow the full drying time to pass before you consider adding a second layer or a clear coat.

How to Find Your Fleet's Color Code

Fleet is the catch all for individual color codes not associated with any brand or make, full of PPG, Axalta, Sherwin Williams, etc. If only a color code for something to be painted is available, the site can be checked; if it cannot be found, they can be notified and they will see if they can make the paint.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
