Your Paint Color Profile

CU/TCU - Deep Amethyst Pearl

The Look

This shade represents the final chapter for the Eagle brand. Available only during the Vision's farewell year, it is a moody, royal purple that captured the high-end ambition of the cab-forward design era. Since your car has likely spent nearly three decades facing the elements, the original pigment may have softened slightly, but the deep violet undertones remain unmistakable. It is a color that looks nearly black in the shade but reveals its true character the moment the sun hits the panels.

Technical Details

This is a true pearl finish, which means it contains translucent mica flakes rather than simple metallic specks. These flakes provide a three-dimensional depth, but they also make for a sensitive repair. If you apply the paint too heavily, the mica will settle poorly and cause the area to look like a dark, muddy bruise. The goal is to let the light pass through the pearl layers to reflect off the base, creating that signature amethyst glow.

Best Practices

You can usually find your paint code on a metal plate located on the radiator support or inside the driver's side door jamb. Before you spray or dab Eagle Deep Amethyst Pearl (check for code CU/TCU), you need to shake the container vigorously for at least two minutes to ensure the heavy pearl particles are fully suspended. Test the color on the included card to see how many layers you need to match the current level of fade on your Vision. When applying, keep the container moving to prevent the flakes from bunching up in one spot. Give the surface plenty of drying time between light coats to build the color gradually without losing the translucent sparkle.

How to Find Your Eagle's Color Code

Where to find the Eagle paint color code: Determined directly by Eagle. When a color code is not present, the designated reference is the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number. Practically, the source for the code is Eagle; lacking a code, identification proceeds by the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) formula number. This outlines that Eagle handles color codes, while PPG or Dupont (Axalta) formulas apply if a code is absent.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
