Your Paint Color Profile

48U/WA226L - Brilliant Green Metallic

The Look

This shade is a time capsule from the era when your Lanos or Tacuma first hit the streets. It is a deep, forest-inspired green that gives these compact cars a more mature, sophisticated presence than the basic whites or silvers of the time. Because it was a staple color during the transition into the GM era, it has a classic look that still holds up well today. Since your car has likely faced years of sun and road debris, you will find that this green is excellent at masking light dust, but it needs a clean surface to truly show off its depth.

Technical Details

This is a true metallic finish, which means it relies on tiny flakes to create that signature shimmer. These flakes are heavier than the paint pigment and will settle at the bottom of your container if you aren't careful. If the flakes aren't distributed, the color will look too dark or splotchy once it dries. To avoid a finish that looks like camouflage, you must ensure the flakes stay suspended during the entire application process. If you notice the color looks uneven, it usually means the flow needs more consistency.

Best Practices

To confirm you have the right match, look for the metal plate located on the radiator support bar near the latch or on the center of the engine firewall. Before you spray or dab Daewoo Brilliant Green Metallic (check for code 48U/WA226L), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. Test the color on the included card to verify the flake density matches your car. Work in a cool Garage or a spot of Shade to prevent the paint from setting too fast. Keep the container moving in steady passes to prevent the metallic particles from clumping in one spot. Give the paint plenty of drying time before you apply a clear coat to lock in that emerald glow.

How to Find Your Daewoo's Color Code

Daewoo paint color code is obtained by contacting Daewoo, which can determine the color code. If a color code is unavailable, the alternate reference is the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number, used in place of the code.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
