I've read all the directions on the site and laying down the first layer of paint was perfect.
But, laying down the subsequent layers didn't go well. There's no paint flowing down through the felt anymore. When I push on the nib, paint flows down along the outside of the felt.
There's no control. There's either a big blob on the tip of the nib from depressing the nib or the felt is dry. The felt isn't absorbing any paint as a brush would. It's like painting with a block of wood.
I kept the cover on the pen in between coats.
Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
Cheers, -bob |

It sounds too me that the paint may be too thick in the paint pen and that is the reason it is not flowing properly. I would submit a trouble ticket to PaintScratch at: https://www.paintscratch.com/support/returns.htm#under and ask if they will send you another one. Once you depress the nib and release, the paint should flow to the nib and you should be able to apply thin coats. |

I am having the EXACT same problem with my pen and I just used mine for the first time the other night on small spots ... this started from the beginning but I thought it was normal so I was trying to get a blob onto a piece of paper first then dipping the corner of the pen in the blob and painting that way...really annoying...I am going to try to see if I can get a replacement as well. |

ok, let us know how the replacement works. The paint pen needs the correct amount of thinning and when custom making paint, we can sometimes get it off a bit. |

Does the paint pen felt nib need to be cleaned between applications. It seems like the paint on the felt would dry and the next time it is used it would prevent paint flow as descibed above.
Thanks |
