The Look

Since your van has likely spent nearly two decades hauling family and gear, this color has probably shifted slightly from years of sun, but its warm nature makes it more forgiving than a stark, surgical white. It hides a week of road dust and pollen well, though you will notice that dark scuffs or road tar stand out immediately against the buttery finish.

Technical Details

This is a Solid finish, which is excellent news for your repair. You do not have to worry about metallic flakes or pearls laying down at the wrong angle and creating dark stripes or "mottling." The main trait of a creamy solid like this is its opacity. Because the pigment is dense, you need to be careful with your layering. If you apply it too thick in one go, the edges will look raised and heavy. Because it lacks metallic sparkle, any dirt trapped in the wet paint will be very visible, so make sure your workspace in the garage is as clean as possible.

Best Practices

You will find your paint code on the silver identification tag located on the driver's side door jamb. Before you spray or dab Plymouth Cool Vanilla (check for code WG/PWG), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. The heavy pigments that create that "vanilla" warmth settle at the bottom, and skipping the shake will result in a color that looks too thin or too white.
