This is a rare one. It appeared almost exclusively for the 2020 model year on the Edge and the redesigned Escape before fading into the archives. It is a deep, jewel-toned teal that shifts between a forest green and a moody sea blue depending on the light. Since your car has likely been on the road for a few years, the finish has probably developed a lot of character. It is a sophisticated alternative to the sea of silver and black SUVs, making your vehicle much easier to find in a crowded parking lot.

Technical Details

This is a pearl finish, which is significantly different from a standard solid color. It contains tiny mica flakes that reflect light to create that signature depth. The risk with any pearl is that the flakes can settle unevenly if you apply the paint too thick. If the paint pools, the mica won't lay flat, leading to dark spots or a blotchy appearance. To keep the finish looking uniform, focus on applying thin, even layers rather than trying to hide the scratch all at once.

Best Practices

You can find your paint code on the manufacturer sticker inside the driver's side door jamb, usually near the bottom of the label. Before you apply Ford Dark Persian Green Pearl (check for code D9), you must shake the container for at least sixty seconds. Those heavy pearl particles sink to the bottom of the vessel, and they need to be fully suspended to get a proper color match. Test the color on the included card to verify the shade before you touch the car. Whether you use a nozzle or a pen, keep the container moving to ensure the metallic flakes distribute evenly across the surface. Allow for plenty of drying time between your layers to prevent the paint from sagging or running in the garage.
