Your Paint Color Profile

G98/PGJ - Sant-Armour Green Metallic

The Look

This deep green captures the exact moment in the early 90s when Eagle was trying to carve out a futuristic, import-fighter identity. You mostly saw this shade on the 1993 Eagle Vision, and because it only had a one-year run, your car is carrying a rare piece of Chrysler-era history. Since your Eagle has likely been facing the elements for three decades, the original finish might have lost some of its depth. You should expect the fresh paint to look slightly more vibrant than the weathered panels surrounding your repair.

Technical Details

This is a true metallic finish, packed with fine flakes that give the paint its shimmer under the sun. The biggest risk with a metallic like this is mottling, which is when the flakes bunch together and create dark, cloudy patches. This usually happens if the paint is applied too heavy or if the container is not mixed well enough. To keep the finish looking uniform, you want to build the color with several thin passes rather than trying to hide the damage in one go.

Best Practices

Your paint code is usually found on a sticker in the driver's side door jamb or stamped on a metal plate on the firewall inside the engine bay. Before you spray or dab Eagle Sant-Armour Green Metallic (check for code G98/PGJ), you need to shake it for 60 seconds. This ensures the metallic flakes are suspended evenly in the liquid. Test the color on the included card before you touch the car to confirm the shade match. Whether you are using a nozzle or a brush, keep the container moving to maintain a steady flow. Allow for plenty of drying time between coats so the metallic flakes can set properly into the finish.

How to Find Your Eagle's Color Code

Where to find the Eagle paint color code: Determined directly by Eagle. When a color code is not present, the designated reference is the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) paint formula number. Practically, the source for the code is Eagle; lacking a code, identification proceeds by the PPG or Dupont (Axalta) formula number. This outlines that Eagle handles color codes, while PPG or Dupont (Axalta) formulas apply if a code is absent.

Will absolutely order from this company again.

After ordering touch-up paint from Lexus I was still waiting for it a month later. If they'd told me upfront it would take that long I wouldn't have ordered in the first place. Paint Scratch was recommended by a friend who restores cars. Easy ordering, fair price and fast shipping. The color match is great especially considering my car is a 2012. Will absolutely order from this company again. Reason I chose this business: Lexus collision repair and a local collision repair. Will use paint less dent removal and touch up chipped paint myself. Reason I chose this product: Spouse sideswiped passenger side of car while backing out of garage. Mostly plastic transfer from his wheel well trim but pressure creased and cracked the paint causing a bare strip 1/8 wide x 4" long below door handle. Scratches on door handle and a few small chips on both doors.

Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans

Used Paint Scratch metallic custom mixed spray cans paint on a hood panel with excellent coverage and texture over the surface. Metallic paint can be very unforgiving out of a spray can, sputtering pigmentation dots on the panel being sprayed and thus ruining the paint job. No such issues with Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint spray cans. Paint sprayed strong and evenly till the last drop of paint in the can. Shipping time was faster than expected. Reason I chose this business: Having tried other brands of custom mixed metallic paint with terrible results, sputtering pigmentation tint dots from the spray nozzle in spite of vigorously shaking of can prior to application and loss of propellant rendering the lower fifth of the can's paint useless, Paint Scratch custom mixed metallic paint sprays out beautifully and strong all the way to the last gram of paint in the can. Simply the best custom mixed paint in spray cans for automotive restoration. Thank you Paint Scratch.
