Hello, I have a 1990 Nissan 300ZX TT with original Charcoal Pearl Metallic color. I am getting it a new paint job done soon in a few weeks. I would like to keep the original color but want something more exotic. I want something that will match closely to the original Charcoal Pearl Metallic but changes color (maybe toward silver or something cool) to the eyes from different position or brightness.
I also have a 2005 BMW M3 with Cabon Black color. Under the sun, it's like mystic blue ... under shade, it's black. I want something like that for my 300ZX with closely matching color toward Charcoal Pearl Metallic.
So please advise .
Regards, Dave |

I never recommend changing the original color on a vehicle as it lowers the value of the car. The paint you are talking about goes under various names and is quite expensive and a full paint job with these special color changing paints could be big $$$!
But, if you want to go ahead, stop by a body shop and they can show you color samples. |

Thanks for your advise. I think I am going to stick with the original color. Btw, how many gallon will I need for a full paint job on my 1990 300ZX ?

Probably one gallon should do it, but add two quarts if you are doing under the hood, door jambs, etc. |
