Will the base coat be flat when dried? When dried will a bit of the paint come off when a tack rag is applied prior to clear coating? If so, would it be a good idea to gently wash, rinse and dry the repaired area prior to clear. If a bit of powder is unacceptable how does one spray from the spray can without having it look like it comes from a spray can ie. stripes. I sprayed from about 10-12" in order to disperse the paint. Any closer and I was getting runs and/or a "stripe" look. |

Couple of things, the temp was about 70 and the humidity about 30%. |

You shouldn't have any basecoat come off with the tack rag unless you have overspray. Getting a professional result with a spray can takes some practice and you will learn the proper distance to spray and how to avoid the powder.
Also, are you spraying the paint in the sun? This makes the clearcoat dry too fast and you cannot get a good result. |
