More About Lincoln
Henry M. Leland, one of the founders of Cadillac, founded the Lincoln line in 1915. He named the company after Abraham Lincoln. During WWI, he built the Liberty aircraft engines with his son. Once the war ended, he retooled to start making luxury automobiles. Lincoln was an independent company until purchased by Ford in 1922.
