Paint Pens work like a felt marker and make paint touch up very easy. The
paint is very easy to control and completely avoids the "blob"
problem often seen using a brush. If you have very small areas (less than
a dime size) to repair, this is the perfect tool for the job. Paint pens
are filled with a 1/2 oz. of paint and are available for the basecoat,
clearcoat, primer and midcoat.
Note for Tricoat
Paints
Paint pens are particularly suited for applying midcoats* because you can
gradually build up the midcoat thickness to achieve the desired tint.
See the section on touch-up tips for additional information.
*The midcoat is only used with tricoat paints This is the tinted clearcoat that goes on top of the basecoat like a colored saran wrap. Any paint with the word "tricoat" in the paint name requires a midcoat.
