Copying and Pasting Your Nine Digit Zip Code

Step One
When you check your address, the address will look like this:

Position the mouse cursor at the beginning of the zip code. Hold down the left mouse button and move the cursor across the zip code  until the entire zip code is highlighted as follows:

Step Three
Release the mouse button, but make sure the nine digit zip code is still highlighted. If not, repeat step two above. (If you click the mouse anywhere on the screen, the highlighting will go away, so don't click the mouse just yet!) Hold down the Ctrl key (either left or right Ctrl key is fine, I like the left one as it is closer!) and press the C key. This copies the zip code. Make sure you have kept the Ctrl key down while pressing the C key.

Step Four
Use your browsers back button to return to the PaintScratch form. Find the zip code entry on the form and highlight it like this:

Step Four
Hold down the Ctrl key (either left or right Ctrl key is fine, I like the left one as it is closer!) and press the V key. This copies your nine digit zip code into the form. By the way, this technique is very useful for copying and pasting any type of text with Windows.
