There was an almost 5 in" long -  1mm thin scratch on my new 2006 RAV4 door so I decided to use pen-paint to fix it but somehow I got impatient and ended up messing it,. Now I have ordered a spray can but I want to do it right now...(the messed paint area is now 1/4inc  '' wide and 5 inc" long)

a) How do I know that my car paint is metallic?

b) Will my orginal car paint be affected if I spray accidentally some base clearcoat / clear coat on my exiating original paint?

c) What type of sandpaper do I need to use to remove my old base paint /clearcoat in order to start applying 'fresh' paint purchased from paintscratch.com ?

You should see some metallic reflection in the color.
