I have purchased the paint and clearcoat to repaint the top and hood of my daughters 91 Integra. The clearcoat has basically worn out and there are patches where the clearcoat has worn off.....a pretty ugly sight! |

The paint will not smooth the surface out. I would sand the area well and use primer. The smoother the surface, the better the paint will look. |

That's not what I wanted to hear, but that's okay. Another quick question, the damaged area on the hood is primarily in the middle section in about a 2 foot by 2 foot square area. Can I just prep it by sanding the clearcoat off of that 2X2 area and using body filler to feather into the existing "good" paint. Then spray the entire hood with basecoat and clear? |

I'd also primer it, then sand everything smooth. Then apply the basecoat and clearcoat. |
