Hi someone scratched my bumper pretty bad in the parking lot and just left. THe pictures show the damage to my bumper. There are no dents and the scratches are not deep. It appears most of the damage is that my paint got removed. I went to the body shop and they said it will cost 400 because they have to repaint the entire bumper. I would like to do it myself, but do I need to repaint the entire bumper also? Can I use the paint cap or do I need to use a spray? Thank you for your help. Also, how do I protect the rest of the bumper when I am painting the damaged area? Do I need to sand the areas near the damaged areas? Also, do I need to remove the bumper?

You will need to spray to do this right, but you should be able to blend the paint and not paint the entire bumper.

Please see http://www.paintscratch.com/whatorder.htm#bumper for more information.

If you are spray painting a non-metal surface, such as a urethane bumper, you should order the Bulldog Adhesion Promoter as this is required for proper paint adhesion. The Adhesion Promoter is only required when you are spraying the paint and not for the touch up bottles and paint pens. Rubberized Primer is still recommended for unpainted non-metal surfaces and should be applied over the Bulldog Adhesion Promoter. Our clearcoat no longer requires the flex additive.
