Hello, I don't know what I did, but the original paint on the driver side door looked dull now. I think its because I accidently spill rubbing compound on it, I cleaned it up, now it has a lot of scratches, looking dull. Can I use wax to buff it out? Another thing is can somebody tell me how to fill out chips on my car in detail steps? |

Sounds like you may have used either a paper napkin or something else that would scratch the surface when you removed the rubbing compound. Get some polishing compound and use an old clean t-shirt and you will restore the luster again. Waxing will not take out the scratches. |

What's the difference between rubbing compound and polishing compound ? Is polishing compound gentler and if so, shouldn't one better use it to smooth and shine the basecoat and clearcoat ? |

Polishing compound is much finer then rubbing compound. It is too fine to smooth out basecoat and clearcoat. |
