I've had great success fixing chips with the following steps:

Clean area, apply primer
Apply basecoat
Remove paint outside chip by lightly rubbing with compound
Apply clearcoat
Smooth by lightly rubbing with compound

Well yesterday I rushed a final rubbing job so I could get it done before heading off to church and now I have a slight dark haze below the chip where I obviously rubbed too aggressively and removed some of the good finish (this is a white vehicle). What's the best way to deal with this?

1. Leave it and live with it and consider it a lesson learned?
2. Sand down the area and fix a now bigger chip area?
3. Dab or spray lightly over this area and blend with compound?
4. ???

Any advice?

Lesson learned: don't be impatient.

Best way is to put some more paint on. Sounds like you may need to spray it though.
