My car has a metallic blue paint. It changes hue depending on the light and angle. It goes anywhere from having purple in the paint to looking flat teal. Paint code is B16. I ordered that in a spray can. To get the different shades of blue, what needs to be done?
Here is what I would do unless someone tells me otherwise:
Make the plastic as smooth as possible. Start with 400 grit sand paper and work my way up to wet sanding it with 2000 grit. Then I'll hit it up with some primer. Then I'll spray 4-5 coats of the basecoat on. Then two-three clearcoats. Finish with a rubbing compound. How does that sound? |

That should work fine. If you have access to a power buffer, you can get an even deeper shine. The paint has the color but will dry flat until you clearcoat it and then buff the clearcoat out. |
