Clearcoat Peeling
Usually the clearcoat peels off the vehicle because of some underlying issue with the paint or sealer/primer applied to the vehicle. (Chrysler vehicles are notorious for this!) You can't just apply a coat of clearcoat and fix the problem. In most cases, you will have to take the painted surface down to the bare metal, apply primer, paint and clearcoat to truly fix the problem.

Fiberglass Repair
Often you must replace the damaged part. If there are small cracks, you can fill these with body filler and sand and prime to a smooth finish. If there are large cracks or broken parts, you may be able to mend these with a fiberglass repair kit which consists of fiberglass mats and resin. Follow the manufacturers instructions.

Removing Dents
The process of repairing dents in your vehicle is as follows:

1) Return the metal as close to the original shape as possible using tools such as a slide hammer, porta-power, body hammers, etc. Having the right tools for body repair is not absolutely essential, but sure makes the job much easier!

2) Remove all paint by grinding the area with #36 grit sandpaper. This is best done with a grinder or dual action air sander. You can also use a drill with a sander wheel on it.

3) Fill the area with body filler and sand to the original contour.

4) Prime the area and sand smooth.

Rubberized Bumpers
We sell a bumper repair kit that can be used to repair tears in rubberized bumper covers. For minor dings and dents, you can fill the affected area by following the instructions for repairing dents. Make sure you use our SEM Adhesion promoter for proper paint adhesion.

Rust
Often, you will first notice rust when you see paint bubbling and cracking on the surface. As the rust progresses, the paint will begin to be stained brown.

Rust Repair Process
Thoroughly grind away all traces of rust. Use #36 grit. You can also use a wire brush (you can purchase a wire brush wheel that goes on your drill at most hardware stores which will speed the process.)

After the rust has been completely removed, Use Mar-Hyde One-Step Rust Converter (sold on our site) on the bare metal to stop the area from rusting further. Apply filler or spot putty to the area to smooth the surface. Follow with a good quality automotive primer.
